If you’re all about speed, you might think about the Hellcat. But what is its price? Is it worth it?
You’ll pay nearly $63,530 to get yourself the Dodge Challenger Hellcat version. On the other hand, the Charger version is slightly more expensive, and you’ll have to pay $74,900 for the model.
Whether the manufacturer suggested retail prices (MSRPs) depict the accurate picture of what you want in a muscle car is debatable.
To some, the 700-plus horsepower and outstanding drag race performance make the buying price a good deal. However, if you’re a track racer, the car doesn’t corner well and is outperformed by models from other brands. Still, $60,000+ may be too much money for a muscle car.
Is the Scat Pack Worth It?

Performance-wise, and as we’ve seen, the Scat Pack closely matches the 392 but is nowhere close to what you can achieve with the Hellcat.
On the brighter side, it’s still a solid package, and we consider it an excellent value-for-money deal.
Across both the Scat Pack and the Hellcat, you’ll get similar interiors, with one visible difference being the steering wheel.
The Hellcat has a premium-looking steering wheel finished with suede and an illuminated SRT logo. On the other hand, the Scat Pack has the Superbee logo on the seatbacks and a 392 plague on the dash.
Final Remarks on How Much Horsepower a Scat Pack Has
The Scat Pack and the Hellcat packages in the Challenger/Charger series are designed to perform differently and target different market segments.
Speed-wise, the Hellcat is the faster of the two, with outstanding acceleration and top-end speed.
